In my classroom, we’re a team. As a team, we will learn and grow together as we face challenges in our musical explorations. I believe in pushing my students to develop skills in improvisation, collaboration, theory, and more to unlock their full musical potential. Students should know the music of the world, starting with their own musical heritage and personal experiences; only then will find their “why” for music. We will empower each other to be confident, creative musicians. Ultimately, I want them to leave my classroom with the tools and relationships they’ll need to find the path to their own musical treasures.
